Waiter/ess (Seasonal) – Bab Al Yam – Burj Al Arab

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Seasonal Waiter/ess – F&B Service in Jumeirah Burj Al Arab. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Greet guests with a warm welcome and smile. Escort them to their tables.
  • Cater to their requirements by taking food and beverage orders, serving food and beverages to customers and attending to customers’ needs.
  • Communicating the orders to the kitchen effectively, memorizing the menu and offering recommendations to upsell appetizers, desserts, drinks, etc., in line with Jumeirah standard operating procedure.
  • Answer inquiries about food and beverage items on the menu.
  • Assist guests by explaining how various menu items are prepared and describing ingredients and cooking methods, where applicable.
  • Be aware of allergy information on menu items and inform guests where needed or inquired.
  • Inform guests of daily specials or special items/promotions not listed on the menu.
  • Check customer identification to ensure they meet alcohol legal age requirements or requirements as per local law.
  • Offer food and wine suggestions. Take food and beverage orders accurately including any special requests. Inform the Kitchen as per the request.
  • Work with bartenders to fill beverage orders. Work with kitchen staff to process and expedite food orders.
  • Deliver and serve food at tables. Use established food handling and serving techniques as per Jumeirah standard.

About You:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • One year of experience in the same position in a restaurant sector: within a 5-star hotel, luxury restaurant, or upscale bar setting.
  • Fluent in English and an additional international language is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Food and Beverage applications: Micros and Sevenrooms.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
